The journey of creating this ring - started with carving a wax model, and then sand casting it.
Before the silver was poured, I added a sprinkle of  red sand collected in the Kalahari desert.  I wanted the arid, beautiful landscape of the Kalahari to be visible and a part of this creation.  
The sand created movement and “craters” within the silver - 
Next step was adding the raw tourmaline - this was done by fusing additional silver onto the band to organically hold the gem. 
I fused a little gold into the crevices of the ring.  Very subtle - a little surprise.
Size:  measures around 7 on the mandrel but fits like a 7.5 - 7.75 due to the organic nature of the band.
