Hollow form sterling silver is the basis of this piece.
Once the two halves have been formed over a stake with a hammer, they are bright together and joined by fusing additional silver to the edges to join the two halves to create one piece.
Time is then taken to build out the “arms” by fusing more sterling silver.
After hours of grinding away excess silver, the smoothing and polishing begins!
The mermaids purse has a lovely jingle to it as I’ve added a silver “embryo” inside the hollow form.  The chain is sterling silver with two 14kt gold jump rings to hold the sculpture.
